I got this out of the woods today. Sap wood is about 3/8", so its on the thicker side and the ring count is about 30 rings an inch.

Hi,
The one on the left looks like a really nice log, you should be able to get high quality staves out of that one!

Very cool, that's where I grew up. That's a good size yew. Must have a been good weekend for cutting. I was out cutting yew yesterday. Can't wait to see how many stave you get out of that thing.

Hi Weylin, I am in Newberg. I have a couple of friends that like this stuff also, it would be great to meet more. With the weather getting nicer maybe we could get some folks together to shoot.
