The HTTPS certificate is invalid.

Go to http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/
Instead of  https://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/   < this one gives the error.

Or the site admins could try to use letsencrypt.org, and fix the https.

Wondering if that's one of those fishing scams where they get your password. I don't have it on mine yet

I'm pretty sure that it's just that no proper certificate for HTTPS has been set up for the site.
A PA sys or web admin could fix that...

if you go on the non-encrypted version (just http:// rather than https:// on the address bar) then there'll be no error. But your password would go through cleartext through your LAN and the internet when you log in...

It's not a phishing scam. PA doesn't currently have a valid https certificate, as Loon said.

Thanks that's good to know I'm not very good at this computer stuff but heard Rush talking about some other ones. Always gets me a little nervous. Especially when they trick people a lot smarter than me about this stuff

Well i wish they would take care of it , makes it almost impossible to navigate the site when that pops up almost every time you change topics😔

you sure you can't just go to http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/ ? Or does your browser end up redirecting you to the HTTPS one anyway?

Does PA need sysadmins or web admins?

I've gotten that message once or twice, but typically I can get the https version later the same day.

There is a way that java script can be exploited in conjunction with a dns redirect that can be used to steal a login and password. As long as you don't use your ID and password for PA on any banking sites you have little to worry about from using the non-secure page.
