Me either. Gonna go look for it now.

Evaporust is great stuff - works as advertised  :OK. Have resurected a few Axe heads with it. I like it cause You can reuse it and it's non-toxic. Bob

"Picked" this leather at a Garage Sale Yesterday. No price on the whole pile. I offered 40 bucks for the whole lot. Ended up paying 50 bucks. Not sure what it is all worth but to me it is at least worth what I paid for it.  I think it is mostly 10 oz? Big pieces look to me to be sides? Medium pieces maybe shoulders? Not shown in the picture are some smaller pieces including a small piece of what looks to me to be alligator.

This followed me home a long time ago, just found it while cleaning my garage at the house. Pretty cool bayonet/ has 3 zeros on it for markings, WW2 Jap I am pretty sure . I have had it for years and can't even remember where I got it but glad it showed back up. Also a rake of some kind. ;)

Nice haul, Brian. Next to bow wood, leather is my precious commodity.

Pappy that would be fun to totally refinish and get it back to as original as you can.

Yep that is kind of my plan, at least new scales on the handle, I would like to figure what kind of wood was used on it and go back with the same wood. :)

Not really, looks more like Walnut but since it probably was made in Japan I don't really have any idea. :-\

Princess tree(Paulonia) is used in Japan for boxes given to a bride at her wedding. It is an invasive here in the US and might make good handle scales.

That is a complete WW2 Japanese bayonet. The 3 circles is the chrysanthemum symbol. It might be worth just a light cleaning and keeping it in the original condition..?
