We had a little snow last night and woke up to about 2" on the tent canvas. I had left it up with the thought to test it out and see how it faired. I wouldn't want to count on it on a trip and have it fail so this was a way to eliminate some worry. I walked out and popped the snow off the top and everything seemed fine as frog hair, so my investment seems to have been worth it!

It's a good tent I bet Scott but beware of the very windy days or storms over night.Setting it up in a protected area would be best.I'm sure you know that anyway though.

Over a thousand board feet of 1x6 lumber found its way onto my trailer. I gave the guy an arrowhead and he called it a good trade.

I went to an interesting auction today.  It was a swamp.  They had a tractor pulling the stuck 4x4 trucks out of the field.  It was like getting to watch a mud run for free.  There was a ton of lumber there.  Most of it went pretty high.  After some side dealing I bought all of this for $15.  It's mostly white oak with a few osage boards and one walnut board.  It was stored in the basement so it's dry and not warped.  I have no clue what I'm going to do with the oak.  I couldn't pass it up for that cheap. 








I bought this bucket full of aluminum nails for $1.  I'm not sure what they are good for but it's about 10 lbs of aluminum scrap if nothing else.




I got 2 cast iron skillets for $15.  The big one is 12" across.  Greg Sulfridge thinks they are both Lodge brand.  The leaf blower was $5.  I needed one to blow the sawdust out of my garage.  The other junk was included with the bucket of nails.  I was happy with my $36 worth of auctions treasures.

I spent the day with my wife at thrift and antique stores. I brought home a couple of good finds.

I got the post vice for $30.  It has a bad welding rbut pair job on it but it should work well anyway.  I got the "old hickory" knife for $5 and the "bird wrench" for $5.  Does anyone know anything about that wrench?
