Even if it survives as a bow, will your wrist survive shooting it?! Good luck! I bet that'll be a blast to work on.

That's a crazy stave.  Hope it pulls through, Clint.  Classic will be here in no time.  Silver River Knapp-in is this weekend down here so here it begins for 2017.

I'm going to try to thin the tips down as much as I can past the knots.  Hopefully the hand shock isn't to bad.  I've made a few holey bows before and they shot fine.  Of course the holes weren't this big and not as far out on the limbs.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

That is a killer stave Clint! I been searching for one like that for awhile now. One thing for sure, it will make it or it won't.  :)

I would have made it longer, cut it into and spliced it with the limbs reversed with the big holes near the handle.

Looks very cool Clint,
My buddy holeinthebowchuck probably wont get a good night's sleep until he get's to the classic to see this stave in person.

I have a few with big holes and the shoot fine, if you think about it the wood you leave around the hole just make up the difference for the hole no really any more or at least not much more weight in the limbs. ;) :) :) I would super glue the split and maybe if it seems to be moving put a wrap on it at the knot where it starts. :) Very cool. :)

Very cool Clintster.  Looks like a whole bunch of nice staves from that tree too.  The ring ratio would have me a bit worried, although not as bad as the bow you worked on at the Classic last year

wow you have guts to take on this project! I am a bit worried about the centre crack showing at the bottom of the heart shaped void towards the handle and that it might split right down the middle when tillering.

Good luck!

I believe in you, Outlaw!

Although, I would have been a chicken and cut it, like 78" for a 28" draw! ;D
