Prunus laurocerasus

Hi everyone,
I have some English/Common Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) nearly seasoned but I'm going to have to straighten it some, last time I built a Laurel bow (my 2nd bow) I struggled with straightening it.  Thing is I don't know if I struggled because it was the first time I tried to straighten a bow or because PL is difficult to straighten with heat.  Anyone with any experience working with PL?

Well, all I know about it is that it is definitely related to cherries and plums, and LOOKS like laurels, but is unrelated. 

So, what is it's physical weight like, and texture?  Most woods from saplings, branches, and shrubs are notorious for trying to do crazy things as they dry, and being hard to straighten.  Lots of clamps, and careful but thorough heat is my best guess.
