Silent Night
« on: February 05, 2017, 10:31:00 pm »
I made this HHB bow for my buddy. He wanted to to finish it himself. He airbrushed stain on belly and camouflage on back. He's not done with back but wanted me to put tru oil on it. He had a tri lam years ago and is thrilled to have this selfbow. I makes me feel good to watch him shoot this bow.
Bow is 65" n-n  61 lbs. @ 27"

Thanks Joe, I really like that he personalized it and really like how it turned out.
I forgot to mention, I had to glue a handle on this one because it tore a chunk out by knot in handle when I split the stave. Glued a slice of Mulberry between two black walnuts with a cedar on top. He shoots right and left handed off the knuckles. String comes perfect through center of handle and shoot same spine arrows either hand.

I love the idea of two friends making a bow together. You can tell from the pics that he's more than pleased.  :)

Thanks All, I'm really happy with how this one is turning out and the artwork is all my buddies. I think he would have fell in love with this bow if I had finished it, but I'm so glad he did and made it truly his own.
