i usually cut my stave at 1" longer than I call my finished bow length. I imagine 1 1/2" shorter nock to nock would ne more accurate. Typically I cut my stave at 67" and then call my bow 66" nock to nock but it is probably closer to 65". I rarely ever measure a finished bow.
