bjrogg, I have the sure cure for hitting them to high :o Crowd your thumb right out to the edge of platform your trying to hit, now swing hard and if your high it will hit your thumb and  glance off and save your point and remind you at the same time to not hit high :o ;D Works everytime you hit your thumb ::) ::) Bob  Don't even ask how I know of such a successful method :-X ;D

BJ, follow Bob's suggestion, like I told my Karate students," pain is a good teacher".

Thanks for the tip Zuma I'll have to try that.
Thanks NC, I had just showed it to my brother it was looking pretty nice. I did make a nice Knife out of it I'll post it when I get a chance. It is glass from and old TV picture tube I found cleaning up for a neighbor.

Good going on the glass.
I hit too high once 8)
Ok maybe more than once, but man, it's easy to do when the piece gets thin like that and the margin between too high and too low is real small. It don't take much .too high. to cause problems at that stage.

Thanks 1442, your very right about not much difference between to high and to low. I had a really nice platform to. Oh well instead of one really big knife I got two nice sized ones.

Every arrowhead I've ever made started out a spear point. Fine work, I'd like to see what you make the pieces into. It's always one of those pit of the stomach moments whe you "feel" it snap, feel it in your hand, then stomach, then you look.
