Setback

I have a red mulberry stave 60" with a 2 1/4 setback that is pretty even the entire length. Is this too much to work with or should I try and take a little out?  Thanks, Clint

That's about ideal. You should wind up with either a straight bow or a little reflex after tillering.

Be careful as you take the limbs to and past dead flat profile. Its easy to remove too much wood because of the extra stress put on the stave with backset.    Pat
