Recently finished up this selfbow for my cousin. I made it from the first piece of yew that I harvested myself. A really nice, straight sapling that I harvested in October 2015. This bow was easy, but was still full of lessons and a few challenges. Wizard Goat gave me loads of coaching via text message(Thanks Goat!) I started this one at the Cumberland Woodbow Gathering this past September. Now to get in the hands of it's new owner and let him have fun with it!
The bow is 70" long, 47@28. Finished it with two coats of shellac and four of tung oil. It may get a leather grip, and a leather arrow pass. This will be a hunting bow, and am excited to see it make meat!
Purpleheart tip overlays(Thanks DC!)
(Indonesian Rosewood arrow rest. Thanks Tree Ninja!)
Glad my oldest daughter has a photogenic eye:)
