Raccoons?
« on: December 28, 2016, 08:35:27 pm »
Any useful parts on a coon aside from the skin?
I just skinned a roadkill male today and I wanted to make sure before I pitch the rest of it.

Pretty good, Southern Gentleman's toothpick waiting to be plucked. :)
Lakeland, Florida
If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Ok I pulled the penis bone out not sure if I'm going to use it as a toothpick or not ??? ;D
Half eye I would otherwise be all for it but he was pretty smashed up from what ever car hit him, think the gut is still worth salvaging?

Good idea JEB....lol.
dylan....Here's a little something anyway.Hanging on my tribute I call my unicorn buck. It's supposed to be a grapple to hang things from but it's made from 4 coon peckers.Wrapped with leather and glue and beaded with ponytrader blues/red white hearts/and greasy yellows.I used to have quite a few.A string of them at least 3' long until my favorite fox terrier got ahold of them and chewed them up....lol.Used to give them away at rendezvous.Oh used one as a peace pipe tamper or cleaner too.

Dylan they are eatable but not my favorite wild game. You could also boil the skull clean it up good makes kinda cool display. I have a small collection of skulls I find them interesting. YouTube has lots of videos how to clean up skulls
