Hackberry ?

I'm building a hackberry bow for the Moontree Gathering. I know it's a white wood and all I have to do is strip the bark and cambium then use the top layer of white wood. My ? Is after I smoothed the bark down it had such a cool looking natural camo pattern can I just leave the cambium and bark and build a bow like that or does it have to come off?

Few woods handle left on bark very well.

Hackberry has a thick cambium layer under that bark.  I would remove it.

Remove the bark Paul. You can do a natural camo with the cambium.

I'm with Jon on this one, you can leave some cambium here and there and make a cool camo pattern, just get artistic with your scraper. If it happens to have real thick cambium careful use of the scraper will thin it without completely removing it where you want some left behind.
Hackberry is one of the easier wood to create this type of camo pattern on.
