The bow was inspired by the Chet Stevenson bow that Carson posted a few years back. I hadn't seen anyone try to replicate the design yet so I figured it would be a good bow for this trade.

There is essentially a build along on this thread although  it is not of this version of the bow. The process was the same though.

In a perfect scenario I would have made it just a hair wider and had the outer top limb come around more but a repaired defect( linear split) out there made me a bit gun shy of reducing it any more. The upper limb is longer so the actual working portion is about the same.

I really abused it by leaving it strung for days on end and shooting it many times to see if it would slump in profile and better match the bow I was copying but it wouldn't budge much.

I really enjoyed shooting it. Wish I had taken a few measured flight shots with it using various arrows but maybe Carson can test it out like that and see how it's actually doing.

The physical weight of the bow feels quite light relative to the poundage and materials used, none of which are light . It has  12  separate pieces of wood  plus a sinew and rawhide backing as well as wrapping at the junction of the spliced in tips.

There is also a shelf on it which I never do but I noticed Carson likes a small one on most of his bows so I worked it in rather than adding it on. I'd had my fill of gluing on extra bits. ;)

Awesome bow Pat,  no one can doubt that one took some skill and patience.

Carson, it looks like you are having a pretty good month!  I have enjoyed seeing all of the awesome bows on this thread, but this last one is definitely one of my favorites.

Marc, I know it's been a while but I just have to say... This is the coolest bow I've ever seen!  :o
