Kool!
Did the Native Americans think about all this that much or just do it?

That's an outstanding piece of osage Clint.Along with your tillering skills and the long term it took to make it probably dried it out real good too.All help it retaining reflex like that I think.Your draw length 26"?That can help a bit.You think it's dark color to begin with had something to do with it too?Anyway...great bow you made there bud.Congrats.Bet it shoots snappy too.How does it shoot anyway?
I cut some more hedge here the other day.Just a few small logs.Went after some sapling type bows.I've had luck with them being snappy bows holding reflex nice.

This bow OO would work perfect in my blinds.I've got a 60" bow that does too. With the colder weather coming here I'll be in there waiting for a passer by....lol.

Looks like you probably don't feel it bend in the handle at all Clint?Even at 3/4" thick. How wide is your arrow pass or handle for that matter?Nice use of a piece of osage Clint.

I measured the handle on the bow and its just under 3/4" wide at the start of the fades.

I wish my draw length was 26".  I've got short arms and I short draw a bow.  It's a bad combination.  I think the dark colored osage helped as well as the length of time it took to finish it up.  The bow has spent the last few years in the house at 50% humidity.  I roughed out 18 bows recently and have them stashed in the house.  I'm hoping to get similar results with them.  The bow shoots great when I get it to full draw.  Good luck with your osage haul.

That's the bow I finished the tips and handle with you while the hunters were out in the woods.  It picked up some good mojo from that adventure.  I'll bring it to Moontree and let you check out the finish.

Tiller looks really good to me.  Very nice bow Clint.  Interesting about the finish, I'll keep that in mind.
