Osage burl knife

Stringman sent me a couple of pieces of an osage burl a while back. I knew they would look great as knife scales. I've made several knives over the last year but none for myself. I figured it was about time I fixed that problem. The steel is from an old saw mill blade that Ozzy gave me. I annealed it and cut it out on a metal bandsaw. After I shaped it I hardened it to where a metal file wouldn't cut it. Then I put it through 2 tempering cycles. I sanded it to 3000 grit. I sealed the burl scales with several coats of matte car rim sealer. I'm going to use that on the next bow that I finish. I put a slight curve to the sheath to match the shape of the blade.
I'm finding it hard to get good clear pictures of knives.

The sanding work is "ok", but them scales are off the hook!!
Very nice work on that one buddy, and it feels great carrying a hand made knife when you're out. You're grandkids are gonna enjoy looking at that 50 years from now.
