new red oak bow

I've been working on this one for the past 4 weeks(when I have time). It's a red oak board. 64 inches NTN. 1" wide at the handle. Limbs are 1.5" wide . Then taper to 5/8" in the last 12". It's pulling 45# @ 25". I would like to lighten it up just a little more.

Your tiller looks good. All you should have to do to reduce weight is 5 full length scrapes on each limb and check weight. If not enough do 5 more. Exercise after each wood removal.

Yup do as pat says, looks good. How much have you shot it, it will lose a few #'s when it gets a few hundred arrows through it

I've only put 50 - 60 arrows through it so far.

Make sure you have rounded over the corners on the edges of the limbs, too. That helps prevent most of the limb failures on board bows!
Looks like this one is gonna be a shooter for ya!

I put a very light coat of stain on the bow.

The right limb is bending a bit too much in the inner third. Your left limb shows a better elliptical tiller, see how it is a bit stiffer in that inner third, that is correct when you have parallel inner limbs. Maybe there is a small thin spot almost at the tip of the left limb too? Check the thickness here to make sure it is even with no dips.
Also round your edges on the back over quite a bit more. You want them somewhere around the radius of a pea

Tiller is good. Watch that handle to fade transition. Looks a bit angular and abrupt. Jawge
