Here are a few bucks from the opening morning of the general season rifle hunt. The first is my Mother in laws. She was upset that she wouldn't be around for a week, and would miss tending my daughter. I joked and told her that she should just shoot the first buck she saw on the opener. She held out and said that this was the 30th buck she saw. She has been putting in for this area for 12 years. Limited entry hunt, on public land.
The second is a friend of mine that I used to work with. This kid is a hunter. He vary rarely hunts past the opening day. This year he has already taken a Bull Elk, a Cow elk, and now this Buck. All on the opening day of the respective hunts. This is a general area hunt, on public land.
Both are great examples of the high desert mule deer we have here in Utah.
