Hello everyone, I have a quick question about this hickory board I picked up. I have already made a successful bow from this board, so this part is just leftover. I figured I would use it if it is any good. The board is 2" wide. The grain is pretty much straight the entire length except for this one grain swirl which would be located roughly 2" in front of where the fade out would be. To me this swirl looks detrimental and I feel this board is junk. Am I correct or is hickory strong enough to handle it? I would be making a 1.75-2" wide pryamid/flatbow design that is 67" long and a draw weight of around 50#. I have linen cloth I could back it with if that would make a difference? Let me know what you think, SS.
