Interesting project.. Should get some nice wood outta it.. Seen some burls didn't want to cut the live tree just for them

I'm doing that with the osage burls.  The ones I cut were from dead trees.  I found a couple more on live trees and left them alone to keep growing.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

I've heard of using deep water pressure to dry wood fast.10'  is deep enough.20 is better.Don't really know how long the wood needs to stay down there though.At least 2 weeks I'm sure.

I bet there's some sweet turkey calls waiting to come out of that chunk of wood. Most any piece of burl end up being beautiful. Enjoy and post some pics of whatever you make from it.
