Not really a build along, just pics

This is a 62" ntn static yew I made up last weekend while my wife was away. This isn't a build along, just some pics I took for Clint (little bugger always demands pics from me?), feel free to ask questions all the same. I'm going to add boa skins in the coming week, and I need to knock some weight off it and get it back to 28". It'll take it or break. I have no use for short draw bows :)

First pic - Just straightened it out laterally and added maybe 1" of reflex to the main limbs, not much at all.

Second pic - Floor tillered dead nutz

Third pic - steamed for 30 minutes and statics bent in

Fourth pic - Full brace, perfect tiller out to 26"

Oh sure there's nothing to it- just knock another one out at the weekend while the good lady wife pops down the shops. Don't know what all the fuss is about!  ::)
That looks like it'll be a killer if it survives the 28" draw!  :)

Likely have bit more success if ya taped/painted that wall.

Well done, my friend.

I have been doing this for a long time...late 80's.

Bowyers like me have taken bowyery as far as we could.

As I age, the bows/year have decreased and it takes me longer to make one.

Bowyers like you and several others have taken it further. I feel self-bowyery is in the good hands of the younguns.

Keep up the good work.

Clint the only problem is you short draw short draw bows. By the time you were done this thing would draw about 18# :)

Seiddy you know how easy yew is to get a bow from. I don't have 8 hours in this one. The meat just falls off the bone with good yew!
