Tri-Lam Bow Question

Sorry for all the beginners questions but I have two on tri-lam longbows:

1. Is the core wood always tapered or is a constant thickness also used

2. Is the core usually cut as 1 or 2 parts?

You don't have to taper the core and it can be one or two pieces

You wouldn't trap the core. Trapping is taking the upper edge off and you don't want to do that to the core. You can either taper the core like bubby said or use it parallel.
