Reproductions? Or maybe a better description?
« on: September 25, 2016, 01:48:41 pm »
I have struggled to define for audiences what it is that I am doing here making these bows.  I have been known to copy existing pieces from museums, but generally, I am just playing variations on a theme.  But just today I came across someone that has both the background and the verbal skills to say what it is I have been trying unsuccessfully for years.  His name is Michael Tinker and he makes swords:

Excellent article that sums up why I'm doing what I'm trying to do - would also be good for a laugh to post it on the Warbow forum  >:D

Yeah, and he earns every penny of his prices.  I'd love to own some of his work, but it's just that acquisitive collector in me.  I really cannot justify a decent quality sword.

I'll settle for my .45 ACP.

I have a couple of excellent swords, a katana from Kris Cutlery and a rapier from Hanwei that I wore at my wedding, but I would like to have a longsword of some sort as well.
