beautiful piece of osage
« on: September 23, 2016, 10:34:35 pm »
I never get over how beautiful bow wood can be, to me its a very beatiful scupture made from wood,,
even in the very early stages of being a bow it bends and runs like a river,,
I had this stave for about 10 years,, just waiting for the right bow, I am making it for a friend that I think it fits very nicely,,
I just barely have it bending on floor tiller,, buts its graceful and and such a beautiful color,,, just wanted to share with you guys that like the wood you are working with in all states,, from tree to deer killing bow,, :)

Looks like your on to a good one there Brad, thats some gooding looking osage. I've been working some less that clean and perfect osage from staves lately and in spite of its below average quality its osage and makes a damn fine bow.                      Still the king of bow woods in my opinion. :)
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Osage is a very beautiful wood especially after it ages, here's one example of the color change after 3 years of good use.

I like osage

I agreed with you bow wood is beautiful and how it flows with the grain around knots.  Your bow looks beautiful to.
