Maggie Mae, our newest family addition
« on: September 18, 2016, 12:34:40 pm »
Folks, meet Maggie. We picked her up from a rescue pound in Hendersonville last Friday. She is 5 months old(we thought 3 mo. at first) and is supposed to be a "hound". Solid black with a white star blaze on her chest and salt and pepper feed. She was quite thin when we got her(18#) and quite timid. She checked out well with the pound's vet when she was spayed and by our regular vet a few days ago. Well, she's over all of her shyness and skittishness! She has taken to us like a puppy should and will be a valued member of our pack. Maggie has been a little rough with Lucy, our 13 year old Choc Lab but they are working that all out. Anyway, here are a few pics of Maggie Mae. Squirrels and chipmunks beware!!!

She sure has livened up this household in the last week. Her only negative has been house breaking her At 5 months in kennels all she knew was hard surfaces to do her business on. Thank goodness we have tile floors where chose. We are staring to see light here too as she has only lapsed once in 3 days. A small price to pay.

She has exactly the same face as my childhood dog, Sport. He was a Lab, Cocker cross. It looks like he was a little shorter than her.

She does have a labby face but I think it is the only similarity.
