Here's my first attempt at oil painting.  Not so good but I'll keep doing it till I can send out something great.

Add a canoe with a Indian in it that would be sweet. Great job!

Looks lime some spring Locust going on. If that is what you were going for you nailed it!

That's Bob Ross quality right there Tim. I can see from Michigan that those are happy clouds!

Great work for a first or tenth.

Tim,
don't sell yourself short, you did a very nice job.
I like the painting also and I'd hang it on my wall!

Who would make an elb out of a nice long yew stave? Or would you rather have a shorter stave? Just don't wanna send a 7 foot stave that will be cut down. Cheers- Brendan

If you sent me 7' of yew with the stipulation that it should become an  English long bow, then I would accept that challenge, sir!

Of course, if you send a shorter yew stave, I would be equally thrilled. I got to make a yew bow this summer, and it was really hard to give away.

I got some time in the shop last night. Antler, Maple, Osage and Purple Heart were involved.

Of the yew I have used, I have kept all the length. If I had a 72" stave there is no question I would use 72" of it, or dang close to 72".

I've got a good start on my project. Had to put it on the back burner to make a set of arrows I traded for two fresh hams, a leg of lamb and a rack of lamb ribs though.  :) Not sure I like lamb though. I'm more of a goat guy. Back on my exchange project though.

.45 and .50 cal black powder for me.

I like yew. Don't get a chance to work with much so I'd probably use all that was available.
