Inaugural Hardcore Hog Hunt
Hosted by Tim Beach of Alexicarri Plantation and James Parker of Huntworthy Productions
Will be held in South Georgia, along the Ocmulgee River
From December 7-11
If you've ever wanted to build your own bow and arrows, and then take a wild hog with it, now's your chance.  Anyone interested, please read below for more in depth information.


Registration is now open for the first Hardcore Hog Hunt at Alexacarri Plantation from December 7-11, 2016. Please message me for a registration form or more information.

To recap the details:

Location: Alexacarri Plantation, Abbeville, GA
 Date: December 7-11, 2016
 Cost: $2000 per participant
 Maximum class size: Ten (10) participants

As a participant, you will enjoy the following during your stay at Alexacarri Plantation:
 1) Five Days/ Four Nights lodging and meals at Alexacarri Plantation

2) Bow, Arrow and String Making :
 - Participants will choose a bamboo-backed reflex deflex bow blank made of bamboo, a choice of an osage or ipe core, with various riser laminates and tip overlay materials. Additionally, leather for handle wraps and spar varnish or polyurethane spray for bow finishes will be provided.
 - Participants will construct a river cane arrow, including turkey feather fletching and their choice of a metal or stone hunting point.
 - Participants will learn to make their own Flemish twist bow string.
 - All instruction, accompanying written materials, and the use of all tools necessary to complete and finish the bow, arrow and string.

3) 3D Archery Shoot on Friday morning:
 - High-score winner will get choice of a custom bamboo-backed and belly Hill-style bow, or custom fiberglass reflex/deflex High Country longbow... choice of wood species on hand, built to your draw length and bow weight.

4) Wild Hog Hunts on Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday morning: These hunts can be from stands, ground blinds or spot and stalk.
 - Hunts will be conducted in areas where feeders will be used to attract wild hogs.
 - Hunters may choose hunting from tree stands, ground blinds or spot/stalk.
 - On-site skinning shed and walk-in cooler for prep/storage of your wild hog.

A 50% deposit will be required to hold your slot and the balance will be due thirty (30) days prior to the class/hunt.

No problem finding hogs there. At least I don't. :D

Do you need a GA hunting licence for this, or is it not needed since it's on private land?

No licenses but I think some kind of low dollar premitt, at least that is how it was when I went down to hunt. Pappy

Sounds like a lot of fun. If I had an extra $2k and time to spare of which I have neither I'd love to go.
Be more of a bargain if you'd  never built a bow and wanted to try it.

Yea, you need a small game license for the hunt. Out of State is about $35.

Check on the permit because some states will cut you a break and give you a visitor pass

Nope! Georgia is $35. unless you go to the same Hardware store we always do, and nobody knows how to fill one out, then, you don't need one. ;D
