I'm down to make this happen. I'llet save it for a bit and get my skills up and make a nice recurve snake skinned bow out of it

Bud, You need to slow down and not worry about the "skinned" final product until you get one shooting. Then you will slow down on trashing staves. It's not the wood you use but the patience.
