Sleek: No. In lam bows "core" just means what the bulk of the limb thickness is made from, it can be both the core as well as the belly or just the core. The maple is in between the bamboo and the osage, but at only 1/16" thick it wouldn't be considered a core.

Maybe you can help me out. I've been starting to try my hand at trip-laminates with curvature in them, but I am having a hell of a hard time determining how to design the risers and how you guys are formulating curvature. I'm guessing you used a caul, but does your caul design include space for the riser and handle or are they glued on after the initial tri-lam body is glued up on the caul? Have any advice for me? What tools do you use for the lams? Belt sander? Thank you!

Limbit: Yea, I use a little caul the start the deflex. I force it to that curve while gluing on the power lams which then hold the deflex curve in place. Then I glue on the middle lam and backing at once, or just a backing which adds the reflex. Then once that is done I glue on the handle lams and tip  over lays. I use a small Delta planer, a bandsaw, and a belt sander to make all my lams. However, I got by without a planner for a long time. As far as advice, just make a few straight reflex glue ups with no delfex first to get the hang of gluing things then tackle an R/D.
