Trying to find natural material to my area- So. Indiana

So far all I have found is some crumbly chert in the fields. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding more user friendly material for a newbie?
Thanks
Tracy

google indiana chert and indiana flint and see what you come up with. you will find stuff from geological surveys, university studys, all kinds of stuff. you may have to drive a couple hours but there is likely top grade knappin stone in your area.
