Lettering Bow ?
« on: August 06, 2016, 02:21:14 pm »
I'm lettering my trade bow and having trouble with the ink not sticking well.  I have several coats of lacquer on the bow and it just doesn't want to go down nice and bold....the ink that is.  I'm using the archival ink pens.  I think on bare wood they would be fine but they don't really stick to the finish well.  Do you guys sand the surface where you want to letter the bow a little?

Wipe the area where you want to letter on with alcohol. Write on, let dry, and make a final coat over all.

Sign after staining, then seal the bow.
 Then its there forever.
