Thanks hunterbob. Its good to be able to work on bows again after being gone for a while.

Pat, my son took that pic and due to his height difference and that of the limb, I believe its an illusion. I put it back on the tree and pulled it a few times. It seems to be bending just fine. I will get more images of it after I get a finish and handle on it.

Nice tiller on that one. Is it true you use a large knife for everything on your bowmaking?

Dictionary, Kinda. I jave made many bows from cutting the tree to cutting the nocks and finish tiller with just a knife. This bow was done with a knife 80%, I just used a belt sander to remove my tool marks and shape the handle ( its faster but I have done it without ). Every bow I make however is at least 75% just knife though.

I was using a K-Bar. But I have designed a knife for this purpose specifically.

My guava bow has also got a sideways bend to it, but it's been holding just fine! Shoots great too, I wouldn't be worried. Nice work! 👍

nice tool sleek, the sideways bend,, it kinda straightens out when you draw it,, I have some extreme examples,, I have left them as is,, and if you couldn't see it, you would not know when you shoot it,, I think if shoots well,, you are good to go,,

my hornbow has similar sideways bend I've been wanting to remove, once I bent the siyah the opposite way trying to correct it, it seems to have gotten more handshocky... I think it was ok before?

If there's no handshock, I guess you're good 

So choctaw bows were stiff handled? I like the string nocks/notches
