Excellent bow i like it alot. It must be really fast too. Im actually making one like this exactly but out of yew sinew backed. The BL looks great.

I'm sorry to resurrect such an old thread but... is this a selfbow? Not sinew backed? How is this possible? Wow. Even if sinew backed it seems like a lot.

That type reflex is possible being a non centershot bendy handle.Low mass is possible like that with bendy handle and heat treating too.I've questioned that with simson's bows too.Durability is in question in my mind.It's all in the tillering they say but in order to get a bow made like that the very very best wood is used too.Hawk had one of an ironwood long ago even shorter and same style but that one eventually gave it up though.I pulled on that one and IMO it did stack a little towards the end but lasted quite a while.

I question how long this bow lasted without chyshalls, i built one similar but with more working limb and length, and after a while got a few chyshalls right at the transistion to lever. Seemed an odd spot for it to show up

blackhawk, bow making happens during the late fall and winter for me these days. Gives me something to do. I did a BL bow last January.
I learned bow making on BL. I really like that wood.
I wrote a story on that bow for PA.
Yes, my bow making has slowed down considerably and I take my time. LOL. Have to.
Once again your bow is a beauty!
