Yew Shorty 65#@24"
« on: July 27, 2016, 08:26:13 am »
Hello,

Here is a yew shorty I had finished a while ago and have been shooting occasionally.

Its pacific yew. 52" ntn just under an 1.5" at the widest. Cow hoof chew toy nocks, brain tan deer wrap handle and 5 coats of tung oil.

It was originally 72#@24" but was too tough to shoot for me at that draw weight. (My natural draw is 28"). Gave me a few welts before I lowered the weight and learned how to shoot it well.

It'd be good for a canoe hunt. This is my first time using photobucket so hopefully it works

Looks like it will sling an arrow real nicely. Good work.

Nice! Like a mini warbow.

Good one! Nice and short, could be good for a ground blind too.

Turned out well,  not for this cowboy my 60" bow starts to stack at my 28" draw and not to mention some finger pinch,  >:D   64" is about right for me.

Thanks guys,

Carson, it felt like a warbow when it was at 72#. Gotta wear the finger gloves at that weight.

Bow101, the short draw is tough, even just body mechanics its harder for me draw high weight at short draw lengths.
