Ideas for MoJam
« on: July 11, 2016, 08:33:16 pm »
I'm trying to decide what I want to build while at MoJam this week. I plan to get down there Wednesday afternoon and stay until Sunday morning. I was going to do a maple backed cherry. But no good cherry staves until spring. So it'll be a maple backed ERC. But what kind. I have two ideas rolling around in my head. Either a short recurve like Marc Stlouis design in the 50# range. Or an EWB aiming for anything over 100# preferably closer to 150#. I'll have other staves brought along to piddle with while glue dries.

So opinions please and thank you,
Kyle

And if anyone has plans for what they plan to do, cheek free to post on this thread too.

Build one with just a Kabar!

I think I'll have to try the Kabar. It should be fun!

I'll be bringing my usual pile of stuff but the primary mission this year will be helping a young archer get a bow built. He's got the stave and the desire but needs the tools and guidance. At least I can provide the tools....  ???
