Handle size

I made a little 45# Yew longbow. The handle is 1"x 1". That's actually the biggest dimensions of the bow. It bends a touch. Is it safe to assume that that size or maybe a tad bigger handle will work for any 45# Yew bow such as a stiff handle ALB. It seems logical but I thought I'd check

wow nice, how long is it? draw length? pics?

My narrowest handle bow is a glass 50# horsebow has a 3/4" wide handle, 1 1/8" deep, 4" long with each fade 2" long width taper, 4 1/3" thickness taper, tapering to 1 2/3" width. Stiff "riser" area is something like 12" - 15" long

Go deeper is safer, width isn't so important. 1/8" extra depth makes a lot of difference 1/4" extra is bomb proof.

If the width AND thickness at the handle is greater than anywhere else in the bow, you should be fine... assuming good sound wood, no violations there, etc.
