60" Bendy Osage
« on: June 25, 2016, 07:08:24 pm »
I got this stave from clint (scrub-buster or osage outlaw) At the Tn. Classic this year
Thanks clint

60" long 33@28

The stave was very narrow, so I scraped the sides on one end until I got enough thickness to make a bow, then I matched the wide end to the narrow end.I got the tiller and the poundage close at the Classic

the bow sucked up some moisture at the classic.
So when I got home I let it dry in the bow room for 3 weeks or so and heat treated the belly, back to flat and finished the tiller

This is the width I ended up with

It's 7/8" at the handle and 5/16 before the pin nocks

3/16" pin nocks

THANKS TO ALL THE GUY'S AT THE CLASSIC
I had a blast

That's a nice bendy bow!  Good job on that narrow stave.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

I actually really like this bow, never been a huge fan of bend through the handle bows, but this one just caught my eye for it's beauty in simplicity, nice work.

X2

The bow I was working on at the classic broke so I got this Stave and came up with this.

loon-- The bow feels really odd with no grip so I had to add something  1-5/8" wide 1-3/8"" back to belly
Thanks guy's
It was fun to make

I'm always surprised as to how little amount of wood that's needed from osage to make a good bow.Nice job.Wonder what it weighs?

I hear that osage only needs to be 1.2 wide, that's Y OSAGE IS KING
weight is 350 grams
Thanks guy's

Beautiful Bow!
