Elk Quiver
« on: May 24, 2016, 11:29:05 am »
I spent yesterday afternoon cuttin, punchin and stitchin.
It's all pretty much practice. It's been raining to much to
be outdoors a lot. The scrap of elk I used required just a
little trimming. Trying to get the hair to lay right was a pain.
(practice). I stitched in the leather bottom first then the leather
tab in while stitchin the quiver. I added the loop at the end.
I left the throat flare unstitched for easier loading.
Man it's primitive but works well. Kinda like a shedding dog. >:D

I like it. You're fibbin' about it being your 1st, right? Congrats!

Your right about that darn dry hollow hair of these deer and elk.For the life of me I don't understand why people want a hair on deer/caribou/elk/or moose hide. The hair gets brittle/dry/and sheds every where.
Your quiver is the best I've seen of an elk hair on hide though.Very nice job.
