That's the beauty of brain tanned leather, Eddie. While they don't breathe all that well in heat and cause you to swelter, they make up for it by not being all that warm in the winter, too.
That Kentucky blue is some tough stuff! I always admire a completed piece made from it. I have a few pieces picked out of the Twin Oaks knapping pit, they make amazing stones to carry in a flint and steel kit! Have never shook loose hotter and longer burning sparks from my steels! Man, those sparks spit and sizzle like bacon in a red hot pan!
