Nice Short Bow.  That FD is impressive I'd be scared to even try to pull that much draw.

Fellas, I just couldn't take the ugly brace anymore so I took a REAL close look at the knot and did a little "tweeking" to the width around it and a very little belly scraping and got it closer to acceptable.
Lost one pound but the unbraced and full draw still look good so I think I can live with the braced profile now. Here are the pics....

Mr. Don,
got the scale fixed and the bow weighs 8-5/8 ounces....246 grams. That is bow, sinew, snakeskin and the pitch and grease finish.

Bradsmith, the lesson here for next time was to pay way more attention to how much sinew ya put where and to keep it even.

Thank you Jawge...

Stickbender, I dont own a chronograph....if you consider a guys experience with other bows then it's pretty darned quick. I can always paint an arrow some high rez color and see how far it goes out into the field....not very scientific though.

I'm gonna be the jerk this time. I personnaly liked the first f/d better. Nothing bad about the new one but the first looked better balanced to me. Sometimes we split hairs over the brace look. I like a good f/d over a perfect brace. That's just this a- hole's opinion. Still a killer bow Rich.

yes getting the sinew on even can be tricky,, and it makes the tiller go better when even, I am always hesitant to scrape the sinew, some say it can be done, I have not had much luck with that,, :)

Jon, no a-hole about it my friend....The first one had a positive tiller and drew and shot very well.....guess I just couldn't stand that much PT....It still shoots real good and quick though so at least I didn't screw up a good shooter/hunter......This will serve me as a lesson leaned though, so thanks bud.

Bradsmith, typing same time as you. The problem was that while laying the sinew it did not dawn on me to not completely cover the entire knot. The bow is about 1-1/16" wide while the knot was 1-1/4 wide so that alone threw the tiller out....so I scraped the edges of the area around the knot and a little off the belly to even it out. All that would not have been necessary had I just run the sinew 1-1/16 wide over the knot in the first place.

You make some small bows BUD I've never make a 42'' 47# bow.

You have a distink style that stands out ;D.
