Bear Snake Necklace
« on: April 20, 2016, 12:00:23 am »
I just finished up this bear claw and snake vertebrae necklace.  I've been wanting to make this for a while but never took the time to do it.  I came across the claws today while I was looking for some fur hide.  I took them to my daughters track meet and cleaned them up with a utility knife during the races she wasn't running in.

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Sweet! I really like it!
I bet you got some funny looks from the other parents at the meet.

Thanks guys.  The claws came from a really old bear skin rug.  It was two bears sewed together into one.  It was in rough shape.  Most of the hide was so old it tore apart when you picked it up.  The claws were about the only thing worth saving.  The moderator of a hunting forum I'm a member of sent me the hide.

Plan on it.  I've got some other special things to wear there.
