As the subject states, this will be the first of many laminated bow challenges at the Classic.  Because of the such great interest and demand for the bow blanks that I brought to the Classic last year, I decided to make it more interesting in having a similar bow challenge.  After running this by Pappy, he thought it was a great idea.  Good for people to have a chance and learn about laminated bows, and at the same time, have a lot of fun.  I only have 35 blanks, that range anywhere from 35# to 60#.  Participants will have to  purchase a bow blank,, then obtain a score card at the Classic and compete to win one of three 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place trophy prizes.
Those people wanting to participate and finish a bow blank will need to bring their own tools if they have them.  To finish these bow blanks takes minimal hand tools:  4-way rasp, scraper, nock file, a little sandpaper, and maybe some kind of finish in an aerosol spray can.  These are bamboo-backed osage bow blanks and bamboo-backed ipe bow blanks.  Some are natural, and some are dyed with various colors and patterns.  And the riser woods also will come in a variety of species of wood.  Included are pics of some of the bows in the rough and completely finished out.  I hope this turns out to be a wonderful and fun event for all participants and spectators.  The pics are of just a few examples of unfinished and finished bows to show how they can turn out.
i will be arriving at the classic saturday, april 23rd
