Decrown, knots and rawhide backing.

Good day,
In laws was cleaning their backyard and I found some Buckthorn in the pile. While drying it checked badly and in hopes to try to save the sapling I decrowned it.  While decrowning it I had to go over a bunch of knots and branches as you can see in the so so picture. Is rawhide going to be enough to make the back "safe"?

Why would you decrown it? Seems like you made it more dangerous rather than saving it.

Buckthorn is rather good in compression so back it with sinew or sisal fibers. Rawhide will prevent splinters lifting but will take rather little of the tension strain, and the bow will hinge at the knots.
