first one with an ishi stick

Just some glass but was pkeased with the way the long flajes began to come off with the ishi stick. Interested to see what i can do with rock now. Not the best point ever but ill tell ya shes sure sharp

  That looks pretty good for the 1st attempt.  Is that by any chance the bottom of an old Mason jar?  That apparent color of blue looks like some of my older jars... if they happen to get broken they get flaked before long...  They make good looking points.

haha no its the side of a bombsy saphire gin bottle. i went and started working some of my basalt with the ishi stick. lovin it. thinning stuff like no tomorrow

i didnt know how long to make it so i just kinda hacked off a branch and made one it turned out 16 inches on the dot. seems to work fine for me. im using it under the knee tho not as a long presser

lol in essence yes i am. my ishi stick is a length of saskatoon cut off from a stave im drying with a copper rod pounded into the center
