Been awhile...Rocky Mt. Maple stick
« on: March 25, 2016, 03:31:35 pm »
She's starting to come around.  It's been awhile since I've made a bow.  She's out to 24", now.  We'll see how she shapes up.  Looking like close to 50#.  I'm aiming more toward 45#  Twistedlimbs gave me this sapling stave 3 years ago after he left Montana to come back to FL.

Anyhow, shaping her up.

Always catch myself holding breath when see pics of those bendy handles REEEALLY bending!
Nice!!

Bow is looking good Steve-O. Archer isn't looking bad either..... ;)

Thanks guys.  Had a 15 year old girl over yesterday learning to shoot.  I love teaching kids to shoot.  So fun.
Ajooter, the bow is 58" tip to tip.  I like Maple.  I've found that it definitely prefers steam over dry heat.  There is a big kink in it and the stick was pretty funky but it's mostly out.  Bet I'll get it shooting today.

Cheers brothers.  I'll update pictures as I go.

That's a shorty...what's the unbraced profile look like?  I like maple myself.
