"vote" . . . . . not "boat"
« on: March 15, 2016, 07:37:24 pm »
This isn't about politics. It's mostly about fun interaction between gramps and grandson. And a tiny bit of civics.

4 yr-old grandson, Johnny, accompanied me to polling place today.
Johnny, "where are we going pawpaw?" "We are going to vote", I replied. "We are going to Boat?" "No, we are going to Vote." "That's what I said pawpaw!"
This conversation repeated itself many times on our drive.
When we arrived, there was a sign on the polling place building .... VOTE HERE.
Asked Johnny to recite his ABC's. When he got to "V," I pointed to the sign. "See that word? It says VOTE and starts with "V" ... got it?"
"Ohhh, I get it!"
He walked outta the polling place proudly displaying the I VOTED sticker the polling workers pasted on his shirt.

... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

I'm writing in my vote for Canadacy. If you haven't seen the YouTube video, you should, it's quite comical.
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short. Amen.
