I saw this today and had to share.  I can't tell if it is a photo or a painting, either way I really like it.

Heck no, that's an ALB :)

Cool pic A-a-ron.

It's probably a hand colored photo. That's what they had to do back then.
Or it's a modern recreation of the look from an old black and white image.

Anyone care to guess his target?
Mine would be a flock of geese lifting off or a moose at 50 yards.

Oh yeah, What about the guide? Dream land?
Actually I am thinking an older Howard Hill??

Looks to me like a staged photo, with a picture back ground.  The canoe, looks like it is sitting on something, other than water, unless that is the reflection of the canoe, in the water, and if the guy is actually shooting at something, the guide isn't too particularly interested in a successful shot or not, and the guys stance, in a canoe, isn't exactly a stable stance, and the bow of the canoe looks like it is raised, not down with the guys weight, unless the guide, or paddle grunt, has a huge glutemus maximus, and he is like OK, take the picture, I want my money, and lunch for this!  Just my opinion, still neat picture.

That looks like a lemon wood bow 30,40's. That go's along with the guys way of anchoring up the chin.

Field archery shooting a butts, walking the string for shooting distance's. Doesn't look like he's shooting 20 yards. Way the reflexon in the water looks it's differently a painting from 30,40 50's who knows if it isn't signed.

The best I can find for a source: Below the image in the article it gives credit to "http://www.jerrygowins.com", but nothing seems to exist on that site anymore.

I wouldn't have the guts to shoot a moose from that vantage point. Suppose the moose got mad. How would those two men maneuver to escape? How would they salvage the kill?

I'd like a copy of it. Looks like he was probably after Moose.
