Black Locus
« on: March 17, 2016, 12:15:47 pm »
This is a black locus bow I built for the 2016 PA Bow trade

Tip overlays are wood from Africa a friend that builds wooden hats gave me. (smells like coffee when cutting)
Skins are copper heads from around the house.
Leather grip sewed on with Dacron
62" ntn
Bendy handle thanks Rich for walking me through it. 1st One
Put 2 1/2" reflex in it with a nice toasted bellys, bow held 1 1/4 of its reflex
I fumed this bow for 10 days then 10 coats of tung oil topped off with Helmsmans Satin clear spray.
50lb @ £>" can't reviel the draw.
This bow is center shot, shoot off the hand.
I've shot this bow about 50 times has a smooth Draw and seems to be pretty fast. No hand shock.
Lauren my Daughter built the Dacron String she calls it Lemon-Lime.
I have had a fun and challenging time building this bow. I hope my Victom enjoys it.

Very nice bow Gutshot. That fuming really added some darkness to the locust and the skins and finish work look great. Whoever ends up with that ought to be quite pleased.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.
