Not a pyramid. It slowly tapers till around the last 8" or so. I was actually trying for something I could keep strung and shoot for most of the day without too much stress. It's just came out like it is. Other bows I have seem to loose a little by the end of the day.

Here's another I had out today. It my attempt at a more primitive type sort of.
 I bought an ugly stave and tried to make something out of it. It was 1" 1/8 wide at the widest full of cracks a bad twist from one end to to other one end was deflexed the other reflexed. About 20 ring per inch 10 knots on the back. I took off about 10 ring or so to get to one that looked like a ring.
 After gluing cracks and bending into shape, heat treating I started to think it may hold.
I expected it to blow apart every time I drew it. I started to call it Bad juju just cause I'd flinch and get ready for pain.
I decided to try some staining and feathers since I seen it on PA and thought why not. I also tried a artificial sinew string.

56 ntn 50" @ 25 Osage 5" brace Osage tip overlays

Sounds like you had to fight to get a bow out of that second one, those bows can be rewarding when you pull it off successfully.
