Shats this thread doin here instead of around the campfire where it would be much mlre tasty?
Well, have you ever seen the stuff full grown into 5-6 foot shoots? Im planting some this year. Maybe in 2 years i can make arrow shafts of them. Asparagus and venison just go so well together. I love irony.

With shorter growing seasons that makes sense. Longer seasons allow it to grow taller.

I grew asparagus for years and don't believe the dried stalks would have the strength to make an arrow shaft.

The stalks grow good here, unfortunatly the spears don't. Not enough cold weather I guess.

  I'm with ERIC I've never seen any asparagus that would be strong enough.
